Yvonne Thomson is an influential leader, coach and business partner, with a strong affinity for people and an abiding gift for cultivating relationships. She’s adept at building lasting connections with employees, executives, vendors, and partners. Today, as Vice President Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I), Yvonne drives a comprehensive and measurable ED&I strategy that is integrated within the overall business and talent strategies.
For more than 20 years, Yvonne has designed and developed the strategies and operating processes that build line of sight to business goals and enable transformational change. Her clear passion is engaging with employees and connecting their hearts and minds to company vision. She believes a strong commitment to a culture of inclusion is key to increasing retention and foundational to the overall employee experience.
To this end, Yvonne is on a mission to make ED&I actionable at OpenText. In partnership with leaders across the company, she is focused on removing barriers to equity and embedding diversity and inclusion into the fabric of systems and processes in the workplace, so it’s integral to how the company operates and ingrained in the broader culture.
Earning a nomination from Symantec’s Chief Diversity Officer in recognition of her stellar leadership of Symantec Women’s Action Network (SWAN), Yvonne was honored with the “Most Powerful and Influential Women Award” from the California Diversity Council.
Prior to OpenText, Yvonne has held leadership roles in marketing, employee experience and communications with some of Silicon Valley's leading technology companies including Symantec, Hewlett Packard, Intuit, and eBay. A native Californian, Yvonne holds an MBA and a B.S. in Marketing from Santa Clara University.
